A lot of friends had been asking me for tattoos over the years, unfortunately for them I had no idea how to tattoo or where to learn. That all changed in the summer of 2021 when I began my apprenticeship at Captain Jack’s with a bunch of people I won’t soon forget. I built a coil machine, learned how to create a sterile work station, and began to study traditional tattooing techniques. I love obsessing over this art form and meeting likeminded people doing the same thing. It’s equal parts artistry, technique, and unforeseeable chaos. I’m currently guesting at Nice Try Tattoo in Brooklyn.
